If The Pumpkin Fits, Wear It.

Image
As mentioned in my last blog post, I told ya'll how Steve and I went to one of the local pumpkin stands. I'm hoping next year we get our butts motivated earlier enough in the year to find an actual pumpkin patch and pick our own pumpkin right off the vine. But, anyways... We got there pretty late in the season ( per Vermont time) but there were still a fair amount to choose from. If you ever really look at pumpkins all together you come to realize there a lot like snow flakes, not one is exactly like the other. However, my favorites are the low rounded ones. I also discovered these orange and white stripped ones that I had never seen before, I think they might be my new favorites. But nothing beats a good ol' fashion big huge round pumpkin.  I also picked up three little pie pumpkins at the stand, with the intentions of making a homemade pumpkin puree from them to make pies. A Mid Autumn Day's Dream

Image
Even on a cloudy day The Green Mountains are golden. (photo taken by me)   There are not very many days left in October and along with the few days that are left, the beautiful Fall Foliage is fleeting! The Foliage here seems to be different every year (from what I can tell in my 3 years of experience). Even though it is lovely in its uniqueness each time; I can honestly say this year has been the most breathtaking. Autumn in Vermont is always gorgeous but at the same time quite fleeting. I took this photo on an early October sunny day. *click to enlarge* This was the first year I had a "professional" camera and it worked out perfectly so I could document this years foliage. However, I have to say...

How About Them Apples?

I probably should back up a little and explain the reason why it has taken me so long to do this simply delightful activity! If you didn’t already know, I was born and raised in Northern Florida and I have only been living in New England for aprox. 3 years and 5 months ( so crazy to believe that) and like most true blooded southerners and northern Floridians know…apple picking just isn’t really a thing. Growing up I remember going blueberry, strawberry and pecan picking but never for apples. Once I moved up to Vermont, it was all heard people talk about and I told myself, that it was now going to be on my bucket list of things to do while still living here. Especially, once started to stumble upon pictures online, where I saw of people and families apple picking, it made me crave it even more.  ...S...
